Tonight I had a very different experience. One of my neighbours that I casually knew and had chatted with through my time living here was moving out. She is a dear, sweet lady who happens to be mentally challenged. She loves to crochet, and there were more afternoons in a week that she would be in the lobby of the building crocheting when I came home from work then that she was not there.
Tonight, when I was saying good-bye and wishing her luck, in the lobby no less, she hugged me, and then looked me right in the eyes and said, "I Love You!"
It made me think when I got back up to my apartment. How many others in my life would say the same thing? Yeah, family, close friends, some Church family members, but how many casual aquaintances would say that they loved me? How many can I say that I love of my casual aquaintances?
On the flip side of this, soon, very soon, friends of mine will be looking at their newborn child and saying "I Love You" for the first of many, many times!
Who in our lives needs to hear, "I Love You"?

Adventures in Winnipeg!!
Well, this morning I went on a little adventure with Stacy! Note that this was not something that I planned to do, had never thought about doing before, but due to some unforeseen circumstances with her planned walking partner I was asked late this week to walk with Stacy.
I went on the 10 Kilometre Walk that the Winnipeg Free Press Sponsors as part of the Manitoba Marathon, with Stacy. She had been wanting to do this for quite a while, and so I went with her. I took a picture of the 5 km marker because I almost cried when we got there because, as even one roadside cheerer/supporter said, "It's all downhill from here!"
It was a really good time with my sister, we made it in 2h37m and I at 51s and Stacy at 53s. She was kind enough to let me cross the finish line first!
It was quite the experience at the starting line, all the crowds of people who were there waiting to start their different races/events, and everyone who started off either started with "Chariots of Fire" or "Man in Motion", and let me tell you, watching a surge of people start running forward to the soundtrack of "Chariots of Fire" is something to behold!
I feel a little stiff in my muscles, but I had not trained for this walk like Stacy did, so I am simply grateful that I finished it! I am so very proud of Stacy for finishing it as this is one of her goals that work towards larger walking goals for her!
All in all, in spite of the mosquitoes that tried to make me their breakfast, it was a good time, and who knows, maybe I'll even start training and plan to go into it next year! ;-)

Just Another Manic Monday!
So, got up this morning, stumbled into the shower and turned it on. A little bit of water dribbled out and then stopped. Completely stopped. Okay, turn tap off and just go get dressed. Try to brush teeth. Absolutely no water came out! *Sigh* Okay, go get some water in a cup from my jug in the fridge. Brush teeth.
Finished getting ready and got to the bus, uneventfully. Started to snooze a little on the bus, but not a full snooze, still half awake. Eventually bus is not moving much, just sort of creeping along like a snail. And pretty soon, bus is not moving at all. Open my eyes and look around, we're still on St. Anne's road and none of the other cars are moving at all either. Close eyes again and think - if I don't see it it's not really happening, right? ;-) Feel bus creep around the corner to St. Mary's Road eventually, and then no movement for a long time. Bus keeps up with this slow creeping and no movement until I open up my eyes again. Not very far along St. Mary's Road. Look at the time on my phone - I have 20 minutes left before I start work, and I am not even halfway there.
Then I hear it, the wail of a siren. An ambulance goes past on the other side of the road, since it is so congested on the proper side of the road and the traffic is being held back up ahead on the other side. Keep creeping ahead and stopping for a while longer. I have phoned work to tell them I'm behind some accident holding up traffic and will be late. Person I spoke to at work sounds frustrated, but knows there's nothing either of us can do (short of me growing a set of wings)!
Never did get to see the accident, perhaps it got all cleared away, or was a pedestrian versus car or something like that, but eventually traffic started moving smoothly again, and I was only 15 minutes late for work.
Usual Monday at work for the rest of the day, and then a really good way to end the "workday" when I got home I had an email from the assessment coordinator at school and I got 98% on the test I wrote last week! Yay me!!
