Tonight I had a very different experience. One of my neighbours that I casually knew and had chatted with through my time living here was moving out. She is a dear, sweet lady who happens to be mentally challenged. She loves to crochet, and there were more afternoons in a week that she would be in the lobby of the building crocheting when I came home from work then that she was not there.
Tonight, when I was saying good-bye and wishing her luck, in the lobby no less, she hugged me, and then looked me right in the eyes and said, "I Love You!"
It made me think when I got back up to my apartment. How many others in my life would say the same thing? Yeah, family, close friends, some Church family members, but how many casual aquaintances would say that they loved me? How many can I say that I love of my casual aquaintances?
On the flip side of this, soon, very soon, friends of mine will be looking at their newborn child and saying "I Love You" for the first of many, many times!
Who in our lives needs to hear, "I Love You"?
