Well, today was the last day that I could go shopping at my favourite store in St. Vital Mall. At the close of business today, that particular store would be closing. Now I need to travel further around the city to shop at an Addition-Elle, or else lose weight so I can wear clothes that the other stores sell. Hmmm, wonder which is going to happen first?
Other than that, I am still sick, did some basic grocery shopping with Stacy today, and am looking forward to going to Worship Service tomorrow. Oh, and I will be going to the doctor at the walk-in clinic close to my place tomorrow too. We'll see what the doctor says is wrong with me!

Living Mute in a Speaking World
Today Stacy and I had to do a few errands, and pick up a few things to help my throat feel better. Unfortunately I still had no voice! So, I pantomimed to Stacy for most of the stuff, and she verbally explained to the person what was needed. I had lots to do at the bank, so Stacy volunteered to be my 'voice' so it would go faster. She did this for lunch as well as most everything else. I found myself only trying to get my point across to people when she wasn't there. These included: getting people's attention to let me past in the store, asking for two Loonies instead of a Toonie, and letting others past me in the store. I had to reach out and pat the people on the shoulder to get their attention in the store, and frantically pantomime at the cashier for the change difference. And I nodded when people said 'Thank You' for letting them past.
Makes me wonder about how I would get around if this were a permanent voice loss!
Oh, and Stacy has stated several times that she cannot wait for me to get my voice back because it is annoying that I cannot talk! ;-) This from the one who has said several times before that I talk too much!!

What a Day!!
So, today I awoke to discover that I was not yet completely better as my throat was incredibly sore, and my voice was gone! I kept telling the children at the centre that I lost my voice and they kept trying to find it! One child even kept bringing me handfuls of 'voice', which she fed to me, to see if it was my voice! Quite the imagination that one!!
So, here I am, tired, sore, no voice, and heading home, only to remember that I still needed to deposit a cheque (money isn't always the first thing thought of when I'm sick). So I hopped on an express bus that would hopefully get me to the bank on my bus route, and allow me enough time to deposit the money and get back to the bus stop for the bus that goes down my street. Well, as we got closer to the bank, there were all sorts of police cars, and the street was shut down, and the traffic was all rerouted! So I got off where the driver offered to let us off, and walked to the bank, only to discover that the emergency situation was in front of the bank and as a result they were closed. The emergency situation was a pretty severe water main break - the entire parking lot of the bank, and the street in front of the bank was full of water!
So now I have to get myself across the street, down a few more streets, back across the street where it is dry, and keep walking to the street where the busses were coming off the reroute from. And I am doing this in this bitter cold, with a severe sore throat, a mild head cold, and feeling very achey! *sigh* AND I still have to deposit my cheque!
Thank Goodness Tomorrow's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feeling Better, At Last!
Well, since Thursday morning I have been very sick. I'll spare you all the gory details, but suffice it to say I count myself fortunate that I was feeling a little better enough to be able to help Selena and Curtis with their move as I had promised, even though I am now off of work for today, in addition to the half day yesterday. I started running a really high fever Sunday a couple hours after getting back from Steinbach, and that fever kept going until well into the early hours of this morning. I really don't like being sick, as I am sure that no one does, and am looking forward to being back at work tomorrow!
