Spring Break is OVER!

Okay, so the children loved being away from school, but spring break creates a very long and tiring week for those of us who work in childcare! The first two days of this past week we had relatively lower numbers of children, which let some staff do other cleaning type things. Then Wednesday hit, and we were full to the brim! And that stayed constant for the last two days of the week as well! You know how there are weeks that just seem to drag on and on? That is spring break week for me. It was last year, it was this year, so chances are it will be the same next year as well!

But for how long the week felt, I got a lot done at home as well as I am working up a variety of crafting projects for gifts, and for myself. I look at the calendar and see that the gifts need to be done fairly soon, and yet I keep working on the crafting for myself as well. Oh well, there is only one gift that I want to be finished before my holidays come up. Only three more weeks until my holidays.

Movies, Memorials, and Misery

This past week has been quite full of a variety of things. On Monday, Anthony took the two of us on a date to see the movie '300'. It was a VERY good movie, and I am planning on getting the DVD when it comes out of course! It had been a very long time since I was last in a movie theatre watching a movie, so it was a good way to go on a date too!

Then on Tuesday, I attended a memorial service for a very dear man who passed away on Thursday March 8 of this year. It was very well attended, and Anthony also came with me to that! It was unlike a lot of memorials I have been to because while the attendees were saddened that Merle Johnson was no longer with us, we all knew that he was much happier with God, and that his life's work and life of faith had taken him to where he wanted to be.

Of course, through all of this I was still fighting a cold, and a nasty headache just where the nose meets the forehead. And the headache worsened greatly when I would bend over to reach something, and usually my head felt like it was going to split apart! So I ended up taking one sick day on Thursday because I was so dizzy and feeling so terrible. But I am feeling better now, although I still have a touch of a cold.

I am working on crafting gifts for people to help me pass the time, and getting the apartment cleaned (since spring is coming, I am getting into that spring cleaning mode).

Good News, Bad News

Today I did a lot of stuff that I have been trying to get done for a while, but haven't had the energy with the cold that I came down with almost four weeks ago! That's the good news!

The bad news is that a friend of mine, Brian C., lost his father to cancer on Thursday. He and his father were extremely close, and I know that his death is going to affect Brian greatly!
